Non-Executive Chairman
Alan Halsall

Alan Halsall has acted as an adviser to the company since its flotation October 2005 and was appointed a non-executive director and Chairman in July 2007.  He qualified as a solicitor in 1978 and then moved to head up the family business, David Halsall International Limited, a toy manufacturer and distributor which subsequently acquired Silver Cross, the pram company in 2002.  Alan left David Halsall International in 2006 and took control of Silver Cross. He brings to the board considerable expertise in managing rapid growth and change in the children’s consumer brand sector.


Chief Executive Officer
Ted Bather

Ted was appointed CEO of Storyland Group on its flotation in October 2005. He has considerable expertise in sales and marketing and in particular the ownership and management of children and youth’s rights on an international basis.  In 1997 he founded Criterion Licensing Limited, a children’s brand management company which was acquired by Storyland Group at the time of flotation on CISX. Prior to establishing Criterion, Ted worked extensively in the independent television sector for ITV and held senior posts with United News and Media amongst others.

Finance Director
Keith Green

Keith was appointed FD of the Group in July 2007. A chartered accountant, he worked in public practice for 20 years in the UK and overseas, before moving to be Finance Director in a venture capital backed diagnostics company and subsequently has undertaken financial consultancy roles with pre-IPO and AIM listed companies.

Director
David Evans

David was a founding Director of Storyland Limited and brings to the board a considerable depth of public company experience acting as chairman for a number of companies listed on AIM and holding several other directorships in both private and public companies. Prior to the establishment of Storyland David held senior positions with Axis- Shield plc.

Director
Kevin Wilson

Kevin was appointed a director in October 2005. He is currently a consultant for Zeus Capital which he joined in 2003.  Previously, he worked in corporate finance at Old Mutual Securities. Prior to this he was in corporate finance at NatWest Markets. Kevin is a visiting fellow at the Manchester Business School, Honorary Senior Lecturer in Finance and Accounting at the University of Lancaster and also lectures annually at the University of Geneva Institute for Monetary and Banking Studies.

Director
Michael Loveland

Michael was appointed a director in October 2005 and has considerable experience within the toy industry having been Director of Marketing for Bandai in Europe between 1982 and 1995 (responsible for the European introduction of Power Ranges and Turtles amongst others). Since 1995 he has acted as a consultant to the toy industry. This has involved ongoing contact with the major players in USA (Mattel, Hasbro etc), Japan (Bandai and Takara), and Europe (Preziozi, Golden Bear, Playmates etc). He is also a Council Member of The British Toy and Hobby Association and a Council and Executive Member of Toy Industries Europe.
